Head of Avionics

Summary

JetZero is hiring a Head of Avionics to lead the team responsible for various avionic systems and design the avionics for their sustainable airplane. The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in engineering, 10 years of experience in avionics design for Part 25 transport category airplanes, 5 years of experience managing technical teams, knowledge of FAA/EASA regulations and standards, and experience with specific software tools.

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an accredited university
• 10 years of experience in Avionics design for Part 25 transport category airplanes
• 5 years of experience managing and leading technical teams and/or direct reports
• Experience with Part 25 airplane development
• Knowledge of FAA/EASA regulations and standards such as ARP 4754A/B, ARP 4761/A, DO-254, DO-178C, and DO-160

Responsibilities

• Lead the team responsible for Auto Flight (ATA 22), Communications (ATA 23), Instruments (ATA 31), Navigation (ATA 34), and Central Maintenance Systems (ATA 45) from a technical perspective
• Apply design experience to lead the team designing the Avionics for the airplane
• Responsible for the Avionics team performing parts definition, sourcing and development
• Support the JetZero Lab activities; this includes parts sourcing, installation, and testing activities
• Collaborate and review the requirements for Avionics
• Support and review Avionics test plans, design description documents, technical specifications, and SOWs
• Collaborate with other aircraft system teams, engineering teams, supply chain, finance, and product design teams
• Present technical data to engineering leadership for design reviews and change board processes

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with software tools such as Siemens Teamcenter, Siemens NX, Simulink, and Microsoft Project preferred
