Head of Construction

Summary

The job is for a Head of Construction at Backflip, a fast-growing FinTech company specializing in real estate investing. The role involves overseeing all aspects of construction project oversight within the business-purpose loan funnel and reporting to the Senior Director of Loan Operations.

Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant experience in residential real estate lending, construction, or project management
• 2+ years in a relevant managerial or supervisory role in a remote work environment
• Prior experience working in a high volume construction draw disbursement team

Responsibilities

• Establish clear guidelines for approving all construction budgets prior to closing to ensure alignment with the member and set the project up for success
• Implement processes to review inspection reports and documentation prior to disbursement to ensure compliance with Backflip’s Credit Policy
• Develop and execute strategies to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency within the construction draw funnel to achieve industry-leading processing times and NPS scores
• Recruit and hire a knowledgeable and skilled construction operations team to scale an exceptional draw experience
• Collaborate with the Capital Markets and Product teams to research and develop innovative products and services
• Manage the relationship with capital markets counterparties and actively seek opportunities to build trust and enhance our partnerships
• Assist the team in resolving loan-level escalations and other asset management functions
• Provide leadership, guidance, and training to the team, fostering a positive and productive work environment that enlivens our company values

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience with a fintech company or venture-backed startup is a plus

Benefits

• Total compensation for this role ranges from $100,000 to $140,000, including a base salary and a performance-based bonus
