Requirements

  • Possess at least 10+ years of corporate legal practice, including experience as an in-house attorney, serving as a General Counsel and/or in another senior in-house legal role, and 3+ years of law firm training
  • Demonstrate deep experience advising hospital systems, medical groups, and other provider organizations on corporate, regulatory, and transactional matters
  • Showcase a strong background in structuring and negotiating physician practice acquisitions, joint ventures, and service agreements
  • Exhibit expertise in navigating complex healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, Anti-Kickback, Stark Law, licensure, and the corporate practice of medicine
  • Display experience with managed care contracting, value-based care models, and health insurance coverage issues
  • Show familiarity with diagnostic testing, clinical trial agreements, and vendor relationships across the healthcare and life sciences landscape
  • Prove ability to support the day-to-day legal and operational needs of fast-moving healthcare companies, including development of compliance policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate success as a practical, business-focused, and responsive legal partner
  • Hold a J.D. from a nationally accredited law school
  • Maintain state bar membership in the state where you reside/practice

Responsibilities

  • Provide advice and counsel to hospital systems, medical groups, and other healthcare provider organizations on a wide range of corporate, regulatory, and transactional matters
  • Structure and negotiate complex transactions, such as physician practice acquisitions, joint ventures, and service agreements
  • Navigate and ensure compliance with complex healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, Anti-Kickback, Stark Law, licensure, and the corporate practice of medicine
  • Manage and advise on managed care contracting, value-based care models, and health insurance coverage issues
  • Support the day-to-day legal and operational needs of fast-moving healthcare companies, including the development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures
  • Serve as a practical, business-focused, and responsive legal partner to clients
