Summary
Join Education Unlimited®, a provider of academic summer camps and pre-college programs, as a Psychology Camp Instructor! Teach engaging, activity-based courses to high school students (grades 9-12) in online or in-person settings. Instructors will lead interactive lessons, supervise students, organize labs, and showcase student work at the end of camp. Both online and in-person opportunities are available, with varying session lengths and locations (online, Stanford, UC Berkeley). Successful candidates will possess a passion for science education, experience teaching psychology or related fields, and strong organizational skills. Overnight accommodations and full room and board are provided for in-person overnight programs.
Requirements
- Instructors are usually year-round science teachers, are studying science at the graduate level, or have some other significant teaching/mentoring experience in the area of psychology
- 2+ years' experience teaching psychology or significant subject matter knowledge
- Experience working with high school age students in an academic setting
- Bachelor's degree is required; preference is given to those with an advanced degree
- A passion for science education
- A calm and professional demeanor
- Self-motivation and follow-through
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Responsibilities
- Teach the Education Unlimited curriculum
- Supervise campers online or in person
- Organize and lead classroom labs
- Execute a finale showcasing student work at the end of camp
- Track student work and hand in deliverables to the camp director and EU home office
- Assist the camp director with active supervision, recreational activities, and administrative tasks
- Act as mentors and assist with field trips and guide students on excursions
- Ensure the health and safety of students
