Summary

Join our team at The MEMIC Group as a Human Resources Associate and support the day-to-day operation of the Human Resources department while providing exceptional customer service to internal and external business partners. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for administrative and operational tasks, maintain accurate human resource files, assist with recruitment, and lead the Summer Internship Program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • A minimum of one year of Human Resources experience required
  • Ability to organize and prioritize assigned work, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks, while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in or knowledge of using a variety of computer software applications, especially Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Excellent verbal communication skills both on the phone and in person
  • Excellent written communication skills to include grammar, spelling and accuracy
  • Strong attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, policies, practices and documentation
  • Assist the Recruitment team with background checks, reference checks, scheduling interviews, and posting positions
  • Input employee changes into Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and company intranet in accordance with best practices
  • Complete new hire checklists accurately and timely for bi-weekly orientation
  • Complete all termination checklists accurately and timely
  • Lead Summer Internship Program and coordinate the activities
  • Create new and edit existing reports in our HRIS
  • Plan and coordinate events such as organization-wide meetings, employee recognition, and community outreach
  • Act as a backup for Benefit Specialist on education processing, answering benefit questions, benefit orientation presentation and new hire enrollment
  • Answer Employment Practice Liability Insurance (EPLI) line, input claim, set-up and maintain claim information, process payments and reconcile any discrepancies
  • Assist with department projects
