Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in HR management, ideally in a nonprofit or social enterprise setting
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations
  • Proficiency in HRIS and applicant tracking systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Experience in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with performance management and employee development programs
  • Knowledge of compensation and benefits administration
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive HR policies and procedures to ensure organizational compliance and best practices
  • Oversee full-cycle recruitment process, including job posting, candidate screening, interviewing, and selection
  • Manage the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition and integration into the organization
  • Foster positive employee relations through effective communication, conflict resolution, and performance management
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Administer and oversee employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off
  • Develop and implement employee training and development programs to enhance skills and promote career growth
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide guidance on performance improvement plans
  • Manage the organization's compensation strategy, including salary structures and pay equity
  • Oversee the maintenance of employee records and HRIS database
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement strategic HR initiatives aligned with organizational goals
  • Lead diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts to foster an inclusive workplace culture
  • Manage employee exit processes, including conducting exit interviews and analyzing turnover data
  • Serve as a key advisor to management on HR-related issues and best practices
  • Develop and monitor HR budget, ensuring cost-effective management of resources

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree preferred
  • Certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR preferred
  • Familiarity with diversity, equity, and inclusion best practices
