Hydro Software Engineer

Summary

The job is for a Hydrology Software Engineer at USGS, where the employee will design and develop web applications using JavaScript, React, Node.js, and other specified technologies to transform complex hydrologic data for The National Map. The role requires experience in Esri/ArcGIS software development, AWS or cloud technologies, and DevOps best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field +2 years’ experience (Advanced education in software engineering or a related field is desirable)
• Proven experience of at least 3 years in designing and developing web applications or services using specified technologies
• Demonstrated expertise with Esri/ArcGIS software development, including ArcPy Python programming
• Proven track record of at least 3 years in developing and maintaining GIS software applications
• Demonstrated knowledge of AWS or other cloud technologies, and experience with DevOps best practices (CI/CD automation is desirable)
