Summary
Join Flywire as an Information Developer and contribute to the evolution of our products, culture, and team by writing API documentation, product-business oriented documentation, and support-integration technical documentation. Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Design, and Implementation teams to create high-quality documentation for both internal and external use. Define best practices for naming conventions and error handling. Distill complex technical concepts into clear and concise content for diverse audiences. Proactively influence cross-functional teams on documentation strategy and best practices. Mentor less experienced writers and work effectively within agile development environments. Keep up with new trends and technologies, especially in AI.
Requirements
- 5-8 years of progressive experience writing comprehensive technical documentation
- Proven ability to independently lead and deliver documentation for larger, more complex features or projects. This includes proactively gathering information, designing content structures, and making autonomous decisions within project scope while requiring minimal oversight
- Extensive expertise in single source documentation, including advanced application of information reuse, modular content design, and sophisticated categorization to optimize content discoverability and efficiency. Contributes to the overall documentation strategy
- Strong technical background with advanced understanding of APIs, GitLab, XML, HTML, and CSS. Ability to read and understand code at a more complex level, and a thorough grasp of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Experience with XML-based Technical Authoring Systems (preferably Madcap Flare or RoboHelp), including advanced features, customization, and troubleshooting
- Ability to distill highly technical concepts for complex software products into clear, concise, and easily understandable content for diverse technical and non-technical audiences
- Proactively influences cross-functional teams on documentation strategy and best practices. Serves as a key partner to Product Managers and stakeholders for product terminology and expertise, while actively mentoring less experienced writers
- Advanced experience working effectively within agile development environments, leveraging collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence, Slack) to optimize documentation workflows and integrate seamlessly with development cycles
- A strong interest and usage of AI technology, keeping up with new trends and technologies
