Information Security Engineer

Summary

The job description is for an Information Security Engineer position at a 4-year-old cannabis retail solution startup called Sweed. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
• Proven experience in cloud security, especially with AWS
• Familiarity with Cloudflare security products
• Experience with incident response, threat detection, and vulnerability management tools
• Strong understanding of network security, firewalls, and encryption technologies
• Knowledge of security standards, frameworks such as SOC 2, HIPAA or NIST
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good proficiency in English (B2 or higher)

Responsibilities

• Provision and manage access permissions
• Ensure the security of AWS environments
• Manage threat detection systems
• Analyze logs and network traffic
• Identify potential security issues
• Manage Cloudflare services
• Perform incident response
• Configure and maintain VPN technologies
• Oversee vulnerability assessments
• Provide security training and guidance
• Develop and enforce security policies
• Collaborate with DevOps and IT teams

Preferred Qualifications

Security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, AWS Certified Security - Specialty)
