Summary

Join Actian's 2025 Summer Internship Program for a 12-week opportunity starting June 2nd! This program offers structured learning, a dedicated buddy, and a capstone project presentation. Interns will participate in social events, connect with executives, attend workshops, and may have the opportunity to travel for orientation. The internship focuses on extending an Informix administration tool using ML to recommend configuration changes. The program is designed for college students legally authorized to work in the country of employment.

Requirements

• Proficient in the Java language
• Linux knowledge, and proficiency with Bourne or Bash Shell, and Linux tools to facilitate automation of tasks
• Understanding of Relational Database Administration concepts
• Understanding of ML techniques for predicting optimum configurations for a given workflow
• Must be actively enrolled in a college degree program
• Must be legally authorized to work in the Country of Employment

Responsibilities

• Learn the existing framework created for analyzing Database server performance
• Use the ML model to predict the best configuration values
• Work with the Angular developers to Present the recommendations and “actions” to apply

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to Informix SQL Relational Database and Administration
• Experience with Angular

• Opportunity to travel – we will be hosting a hybrid orientation! For those that are interested in being in person for orientation, we will fly you to your closest resident office
• $20 - $30 an hour
