Summary

Hermeneutic Investments is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to manage and maintain their cryptocurrency trading firm's infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage systems. The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, 5+ years of experience, proficiency in SQL and AWS, knowledge of writing infrastructure as code (IaC) using CloudFormation or Terraform, strong problem-solving skills, excellent English communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure and adjust working hours as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering or a related field
• Understanding of network and security protocols, including TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, SSH, and firewalls
• Proficient in SQL and relational databases, especially PostgreSQL
• Strong knowledge with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Knowledge of writing infrastructure as code (IaC) using CloudFormation or Terraform
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent English communication and collaboration skills
• Work effectively under strong pressure to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks
• Be flexible in working hours to accommodate urgent requests and project needs

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the company's virtualization and cloud computing environments
• Ensure the availability and reliability of our infrastructure by monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing solutions
• Ensure the security of our infrastructure by implementing and managing firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security measures
• Monitor and optimize database performance, including tuning queries, indexes, and storage configurations
• Continuously evaluate new technologies and solutions to improve our infrastructure
• Develop and execute disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in the event of a system outage or other catastrophic event
