Summary

The job is for an Intel & Investigations Manager at Patreon. The role involves building the first-ever Intel & Investigations team, detecting malicious uses of the platform, conducting complex investigations, and maintaining a strong understanding of attacker tools, tactics, procedures, and methodologies used to hunt for adversarial activity.

Requirements

• Multidisciplinary investigative and analytical background
• Ability to identify risks and make risk-based recommendations
• Experience with OSINT, pattern, network and behavioral analysis, or root cause analysis methodologies
• Experience tracking threat actors of off-platform abuse operations
• Experience in a related discipline such as red teaming, penetration testing, vulnerability research, account integrity and content safety abuse research
• Track record of driving results in UGC or community platform across a range of complex issues such as child safety, adult content, hate speech, harassment, violent extremism, and misinformation
• Strong technical background and an ability to make technical judgment calls and effectively collaborate with technical teams
• Experience with technical analysis or investigations, especially in SQL, building dashboards, and visualizing data
• Experience leading and building global programs and scalable processes within a complex tech company
• Exceptional project management skills, with experience defining milestones, managing dependencies, and driving projects to successful completion

Responsibilities

• Build Patreon’s first-ever Intel & Investigations team
• Detect malicious uses of our platform and disrupt their activities
• Respond to critical incidents, especially those that are not caught by our existing safety systems
