Summary

Join Paradox, a rapidly growing EdTech company, as a project-based Interior Designer/Set Designer/Studio Stylist in Paris. You will be responsible for designing and creating a stunning and functional studio space for the CEO, managing the entire process from concept to completion. This role requires a strong background in interior design, sourcing, and budget management, with a proven ability to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines. The project is slated to conclude by January 13th, 2025. You will collaborate closely with various teams to ensure a cohesive and visually appealing space. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and high-visibility project within a creative and collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in interior design, set design, or styling, with a portfolio showcasing successful projects (e.g., residential spaces, studios, photo sets, or similar)
  • Strong background in sourcing furniture, managing vendors, and implementing design concepts under tight deadlines
  • Experience managing budgets and presenting detailed, pre-approved cost proposals
  • Familiarity with contractor management for space modifications
  • Ability to create stunning, resourceful, and budget-friendly design concepts
  • Highly organized with the ability to track orders, arrivals, and costs efficiently
  • Skilled at keeping costs low without compromising design quality
  • Capable of working under tight deadlines and adjusting plans when needed
  • Understanding of lighting setups to align with video production requirements
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration and reporting progress

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the team to capture the style, preferences, and functional needs for the space
  • Develop and present a clear, professional design proposal, including mood boards, layouts, and cost breakdowns for pre-approval
  • Source furniture, lighting, decor, and props that match the design vision while maintaining budget constraints
  • Leverage industry contacts to find high-quality and cost-effective solutions
  • Ensure all costs are approved in advance, providing detailed and organized documentation
  • Manage orders, deliveries, and arrivals of all sourced furniture, lighting, and decorative elements
  • Maintain a clear and detailed inventory to track orders, arrivals, and any modifications
  • Collaborate with the studio team to integrate furniture and equipment effectively
  • Oversee the complete staging of the space to ensure an impressive and functional result
  • Integrate lighting solutions that enhance the design and work well with the video team’s requirements
  • Address any room modifications in coordination with contractors as needed
  • Work closely with the video team to ensure the lighting setup complements the furniture and overall design
  • Maintain clear, organized communication with stakeholders and teams throughout the project

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in luxury or high-end design projects
  • Strong network of vendors and contacts for sourcing unique furniture, lighting, and decor
  • Proficiency with design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar)
