Intermediate Back-end PHP Developer

Summary

Join Lightspeed as an Intermediate Back-End Developer and contribute to the development of global web properties, APIs, microservices, and DevOps. You will collaborate with a team of front-end and back-end developers, reporting to the Web Development Manager. This role requires 3+ years of back-end development experience with PHP and a solid understanding of design patterns like MVC. The position offers a choice of fully remote, partially remote, or fully office-based work environments in cities with local offices. Requirements

• 3+ years experience of back-end development
• Experience with PHP
• Understanding of Design Patterns such as MVC (model view controller)
• Basic proficiency in a UNIX/Linux environment
• Experience with Git/Github
• Good communication skills

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team to deliver product features and functionality
• Help code & design our key services (websites, APIs and microservices)
• Develop clean, maintainable and scalable code
• Clearly estimate and scope features
• Take part in peer code reviews & brainstorming sessions

Preferred Qualifications

• Wordpress/ACF/Gutenberg
• Go
• Docker, Bash, Composer, Xdebug
• Web caching systems (ex: Redis)
• Agile development environment
• Building & interacting with APIs
• Experience working with SQL databases
