Summary

ALTEN Mexico is seeking a talented and motivated In-Vehicle Software Release Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for software development, integration, testing, and validation of in-vehicle software systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and 1 to 2 years of relevant experience are required.

Responsibilities

  • Engineer, design, develop, time, and produce release of in-vehicle software systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as hardware engineers, system engineers, and software developers
  • Follow the SWRM process and ensure IVS sections are updated in the health chart for all software releases assigned, excluding Powertrain ECU’s, IPC, and FNV2 IVI (ECG, SYNC, TCU)
  • Maintain high quality in the information provided in the software validation health chart
  • Create software structures in IVS as specified by the assigned commodity’s software delivery and validation plans
  • Ensure correct network placement of ECU’s according to vehicle network specifications
  • Copy completed parts to the software development packages as required
  • Follow software delivery plans priorities and escalate issues as necessary
  • Identify roadblocks and escalate, ensuring timely closure
  • Run IVS database checkers and resolve noncompliance items
  • Create product structures for all ECUs in the In-vehicle software database
  • Ensure all ECU software loaded into sold vehicles is present in the IVS database
  • Report software delivery status for each assigned commodity for each vehicle program under development
  • Support solutions for issues encountered in the field with vehicles related to software feature malfunctions or updates by creating Service Actions and software release corrections in the In-vehicle software database for assigned ECUs
  • Keep IVS sections updated in the Spot Check and DSP Concerns Health Chart for all assigned items
  • Ensure 100% of software delivery plans are on track
  • Track the software delivery status for every milestone listed on the GPDS from prototype builds to mass production
  • Maintain software database FoM
  • Share the IVS open items and follow up until closure
  • Provide a software delivery plan according to IVS stakeholders' feedback and report the software delivery status in IVS for the Software Change Management Meeting
  • Ensure 100% of software delivery plans & software limitations list are on track
  • Build and maintain the structures of the assigned commodity in the IVS database
  • Provide support for urgent software releases that may occur on Fridays or weekends

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in automotive software development is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with automotive industry standards, protocols, and regulations will be beneficial
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance
  • Proficiency in database management, including data entry, retrieval, and analysis. Experience with database tools and query languages (e.g., SQL) is preferred
  • Knowledge of vehicle network specifications and protocols. Ability to ensure correct network placement of Electronic Control Units (ECUs) according to vehicle network specifications
  • Ability to create and maintain high-quality software validation health charts. Experience with software validation processes and tools is desired
