Summary

Join our team as a Inventory Control Clerk and provide functional leadership to the hospital storeroom, ensuring timely delivery of supplies while performing inventory control clerk duties. As lead employee, you will provide coverage for storeroom employees, handle routine problems, and orient new hires. You will also perform receiver duties, mailroom tasks, and supply ordering responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent required
  • Minimum 1 year in hospital environment preferred
  • Microsoft Office Suite Skill Level: Word - Basic, Excel - Basic
  • Ability to type is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide functional leadership to the hospital storeroom
  • Ensure timely delivery of appropriate supplies to assigned inventories
  • As lead employee, provide coverage for storeroom employees
  • Handle routine problems, complaints and questions
  • Orient, train and mentor newly hired employees
  • Stock, inventory, requisition and issue hospital goods to and from the main storeroom(s)
  • Inventory, re-stock and manage sufficient inventory levels in designated areas according to calculated PAR levels
  • Create pick lists according to the defined process, pick goods from indicated locations, and deliver to designated areas
  • Place goods with accuracy in bins, drawers, and racks, identifying part and stored location
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all supply issues for assigned end-users
  • Proactively maintain assigned storage areas by performing all associated tasks including, but not limited to: working with the Supervisor/ Materials Manager to adjust PAR levels based on usage/volume/forecasts/etc., removing boxes/packing materials/loose items from the area, replacing incorrectly located supplies into correct bins, rotating stock and checking for out-dates, etc
  • Perform cycle counts of inventory locations weekly
  • Receive deliveries as they arrive at facility loading dock(s)
  • Verify delivery accuracy according to purchase orders
  • Document product receipt in Materials Management Information System according to defined process
  • Break down packages and stage goods in designated areas for put-away and internal distribution
  • Dispose of packing materials, boxes, etc. in designated areas
  • Follow-up with the Materials Manager /Supervisor on issues with incoming deliveries
  • Distribute incoming and outgoing mail per procedure
  • Troubleshoot minor problems with copy equipment in self-serve mail room and notify vendor for unresolved repairs
  • Conduct daily review of supply levels. Provide suggested items for ordering to the Materials Manger/Supervisor
  • Review Warehouse Par levels and maintain adequate supplies
