Summary
Join Nithio's Investment Team as an Investment Analyst Intern and contribute to our mission of expanding clean energy access. This part-time, 12-week internship (June 9, 2025 - August 29, 2025), involves 20-30 hours per week and offers hands-on experience in climate finance. You will support the investment lifecycle, portfolio management, and credit analysis. The role includes assisting with due diligence, financial modeling, market research, and data management. This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience and make a meaningful impact.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a Masterβs program in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Familiarity with Excel and financial modeling
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- All applicants must have permanent work authorization
Responsibilities
- Assist in the origination, due diligence, and financial analysis of borrowers
- Support the preparation of financial models, projections, and deal summaries
- Collaborate with the team to prepare materials for internal credit committees
- Conduct detailed market research to identify trends and opportunities in decentralized energy
- Compile and present data in reports, presentations, and dashboards
- Track performance of existing investments, ensuring compliance with covenants
- Support regular updates for monthly and annual portfolio reviews
- Manage data integrity within the investment database
- Organize documents received from clients in data rooms & internal storage
- Document and streamline processes to improve team efficiency
- Assist in structuring financing facilities aligned with risk standards
- Prepare materials for investor presentations and client engagements
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated interest or experience in Africa or emerging markets
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently and within a team
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Experience in Africa or emerging markets
