IRIS/InterSystems Developer

Summary

VetsEZ is seeking an IRIS Developer to support EHRM by building healthcare applications, implementing new features, and adhering to coding standards. The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or computer science, 5+ years of experience in Cache/InterSystems HealthShare UCR, IRIS database, ObjectScript, XSLT Development and/or MUMPS, and proficiency in CCDA, HL7, JSON, and XML messaging. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or computer science
• 5+ years experience in Cache/InterSystems HealthShare UCR, IRIS database, ObjectScript, XSLT Development and/or MUMPS
• 5+ years of experience with software development and testing
• Must have strong software development experience
• Must have experience in Integration protocols such as TCPIP/MLLP, SFTP, REST, SOAP
• Should have proficiency in CCDA, HL7, JSON and XML messaging

Responsibilities

• Design API’s and REST interfaces for applications in both IRIS and .NET
• Explore VistA Extraction processes for potential improvements, implementing those improvements and adjusting as necessary to conform to Oracle Health metadata changes
• Explore Mirror and IRIS monitoring processes for potential improvements and implement those improvements
• Develop systems and support and create design and technical specifications from business requirement specifications
• Develop Ad hoc IRIS applications (10-20 programs per quarter)
• Build IRIS classes in all environments using the VX130 Class Builder or latest local application
• Write user guides and documentation for all development
• Document VistA Extraction and monitoring process and update existing documentation quarterly
• Research and solve problems encountered with journaling and data filing using Cache tools
• Load SQL tables (Historical Pulls) in all regions/districts for classes in all environments, making code adjustments as needed
• Perform upgrades to IRIS instances and databases
• Provide support for high availability IRIS databases
• Identify potential performance issues with the IRIS databases and processes
• Work with InterSystems to solve IRIS database and server problems
• Update the weekly IRIS Issues Report and outline issues fand their resolution in the Weekly Progress Report
• Create an IRIS Classes Built Document for each IRIS Class assigned and built that includes the project summary, the VX130 Data Domain, and a list of the VistA files and fields contained in the class
• Provide or update the CACHE/IRIS Documentation for any software or objects developed or changed
• Debug and fix defects in Cache/InterSystems HealthShare/IRIS related to EHRM connected stakeholders
• Oversee best practices design and development, participate in code reviews, and collaborate with fellow developers and Technical Leads
• Enable successful project delivery and customer satisfaction
• Drive project and technology goals in compliance with organizational objectives

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with CI/CD Pipelines using GitLab is preferred
• Experience in using Cache/IRIS/HealthShare Terminal sessions will be preferred
• Strong knowledge of applying software development methodologies (SDLC, Agile) is an added advantage
• Proficiencies in relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server will be a bonus
