Summary
Join OpenZeppelin's IT & Security team as a security and IT support specialist. You will assist in managing security tools, implementing security policies, conducting internal audits, and providing technical support to remote employees. Responsibilities include onboarding/offboarding processes, troubleshooting IT issues, maintaining IT assets, and contributing to security awareness initiatives. The ideal candidate has 1-3 years of experience in IT or security, basic knowledge of cloud platforms and security tools, and strong communication skills. Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in IT or security-related roles (help desk, IT support, sysadmin, security analyst, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Google Workspace) and security tools
- Some experience with IT administration, endpoint security, or identity/access management
- Understanding of security best practices and a willingness to learn more about SOC 2, ISO 27001, and compliance frameworks
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a remote-first team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing security tools, including endpoint security (e.g., MDM solutions like JAMF or Intune)
- Support implementation of security policies and procedures
- Help with internal security audits and compliance documentation
- Monitor system access and assist in enforcing security controls
- Participate in incident response activities and learn best practices for handling security incidents
- Help with onboarding and offboarding processes, including provisioning accounts and setting up workstations
- Provide technical support for remote employees, troubleshooting basic IT and security issues
- Maintain IT assets and document configurations
- Assist with integrations, automations, and basic scripting tasks where applicable
- Work closely with senior engineers to gain hands-on experience in IT security and compliance
- Receive mentorship and training in security best practices, cloud security, and compliance frameworks
- Contribute to internal security awareness initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with MDM solutions (e.g., Jamf, Intune, Kandji)
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (firewalls, VPNs, DNS)
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Google IT Support, or AWS Cloud Practitioner
- Exposure to security tools such as SIEM, EDR, or vulnerability scanners
- Passion for cybersecurity and an eagerness to grow into a more senior role
