IT Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer

Summary

Join Vistrada as a highly motivated IT Infrastructure and Cloud Engineer. You will design, implement, and manage cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) while maintaining on-premises IT infrastructure. Key responsibilities include M365 and Azure Security Center configuration, network control implementation, and cloud resource security. Client-facing experience is a must. You will need proficiency in at least one major cloud platform, strong networking knowledge, scripting skills, and excellent problem-solving abilities. The role involves collaboration with development teams and providing technical support. Requirements

• Proficiency in at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP) with deep understanding of its services and features
• Strong networking knowledge including routing protocols, firewalls, and network security
• Scripting skills (Python, PowerShell) for automation and system management
• Understanding of system administration principles and best practices
• Knowledge of security protocols and compliance requirements
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement scalable cloud solutions on chosen platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) to meet business requirements
• Design and configure cloud networks, including VPCs, subnets, security groups, and load balancers
• Provision and manage cloud resources like virtual machines, storage services, and databases
• Monitor and maintain existing on-premises servers, network devices, and storage systems
• Implement network security policies and manage firewalls
• Perform capacity planning and resource optimization for both cloud and on-premises environments
• Enforce robust security measures on cloud platforms, including access control, encryption, and vulnerability management
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and data privacy standards
• Implement security best practices
• Monitor cloud resource utilization and identify potential performance bottlenecks
• Implement cost optimization strategies to manage cloud spending effectively
• Analyze system logs and metrics to troubleshoot issues and optimize performance
• Work closely with development teams to integrate cloud services into applications
• Provide technical support to users on cloud-related issues
• Document cloud architecture and procedures for knowledge sharing
• Develop, communicate, and deliver appropriate solutions to client challenges at all levels for both Clients and Vistrada needs in parallel
• Lead, manage and deliver as a trusted advisor, subject matter expert and technologist
• Be solution and action oriented to innovate and execute initiatives across Client and Vistrada needs in parallel
• Understand company’s strategic and competitive position to deliver high quality solutions
• Maximize efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are the norm
• Be adaptable and open to transition as Client and Vistrada needs evolve
• Mentor junior team members to build their skills and experience
• Continually grow via training, certifications, and other educational advancement
• Demonstrate excellent core consulting skills – e.g., client focus, solution excellence, clear and concise communication, flexibility, etc
• Be responsible for the planning, execution, and management of IT projects to support business goals
• Manage relationships with external vendors and manage the internal tooling they provide
• Successfully deliver IT projects on time and within budget
• Assess the relative impact of emerging technology to determine the potential value for the organization
• Ability to think and act strategically and proactively
• Strong writing and presentation skills, specifically relating highly technical concepts to non-technical audiences
