Requirements

• Experience in managing an engineering team or leading software development projects
• Experience with software development technologies
• Experience working with remote teams (city to city / country to country)
• Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment processes and tools (BitBucket/GitLab pipelines, Jenkins)
• Experience working closely with designers
• Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud Platform or Alibaba Cloud
• More than 7 years of experience in an engineering / PM role
• Continuous learning and passion for the field
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to explain complex topics to non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Grow and manage a local software engineering team
• Participate directly in practical coding to help developers complete tasks and remove obstacles
• Collaborate with the wider team on local or remote projects
• Influence idea generation, conduct feasibility discussions, and prototype concepts in collaboration with other engineers and designers
• Recommend appropriate processes, technological architecture, and front-end frameworks to bring ideas to life
• Advise on resource allocation for project execution
• Accurately estimate time and effort required for tasks
• Efficiently manage the sprint process, daily tasks, and team workload, communicating progress, obstacles, and objectives to the larger team
• Regularly review code, enforce best coding practices, source control, and deliverables
• Understand the strengths and weaknesses of the team (individually and collectively) and balance workload and tasks accordingly to promote the best results
• Ensure modern, cutting-edge, well-written, and high-quality code from each engineer on your team
• Educate and inspire technical teams with emerging technologies, frameworks, and tools
• Educate and inspire non-technical teams about technology
