You will proofread and finalize translated Japanese subtitle files, ensuring high technical and linguistic quality using specialized software. Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's Degree, preferably in Japanese, linguistics, and language study majors and/or Entertainment and Media
• Minimum of 2 years of subtitle QC experience required
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Positive attitude when experiencing obstacles and enthusiastic to get things done
• Ability to follow technical/style guide for multiple client content types

Responsibilities

• Proofread and finalize content translated from English into Japanese subtitle files, ensuring the highest possible technical and linguistic quality standards, using SSTG1Pro, EZTitles subtitling software and/or Pixelogic proprietary cloud-based subtitling software
• Review and amend subtitles for consistency across products as well as follow client style guide specifications
• Ensure accurate and culturally sensitive translations that resonate with target audiences
• Occasionally perform translation From English into Japanese subtitles
• Meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality
• Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive content
• Other miscellaneous tasks as assigned by manager(s)

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of professional scripting, and subtitling software highly desirable
• Deep sense of urgency and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high volume
• Punctuality, dependability, and willingness to adapt to last-minute changes to programming and industry
