Summary

The Jr. Cost Estimator position at Hanwha Q CELLS USA Corp involves cost estimation oversight across the nation, site evaluation, reviewing project documents, identifying mitigation requirements, preparing scopes of work, confirming equipment specifications, working with procurement team to confirm material estimates, gaining knowledge in electrical calculations, conducting site visits as necessary, and assisting with Research and Development. The position requires a Bachelor's degree, at least 2 years of Utility Solar estimating experience, professionalism, excellent communication skills, data-based decision-making skills, critical and strategic thinking skills, ability to travel up to 20%, and is remote unless located in Irvine, CA.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, statistics, finance, economics, or licensed contractor
• Minimum of 2 years of Utility Solar estimating experience
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and estimating platforms
• High degree of professionalism and always conduct
• Willingness to work long hours and under time pressure environments, when required
• Ability to interact with senior-level management internally and externally
• Ability to understand how to assemble an estimate
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present and explain complex information clearly
• Demonstrated customer focus and effective communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of the organization
• Data-based decision-making results oriented
• Critical and strategic thinking skills
• Travel domestically and internationally, up to 20%

Responsibilities

• Cost estimation oversight in the US
• Support the cost estimator and or Sr. Director of Estimating with site evaluation, review project documents, identify mitigation requirements, prepare scopes of work for sub – contractors, work closely with procurement team to confirm costs, confirm equipment specifications including bill of materials for the BOS, work with Procurement team to confirm material estimates
• Gain knowledge to make recommendations on actions to reduce both technical and business risk. Gain knowledge of electrical calculations, including wire loss, wire sizing, equipment rating, over-current protection, etc
• Conduct site visits, as necessary
• Assists with Research and Development as required by obtaining cost estimates and per-forming product analysis on recent technology and equipment

Benefits

• $80,000 - $100,000 a year
• The anticipated starting pay range of this position, which is to be located in Irvine, CA is $80 , 000 - $100 , 000 base salary per year
• The above-listed salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide
• Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to internal pay equity, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, geographic location, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job’s minimum qualifications
• An additional discretionary bonus structure or incentives may be offered as part of the overall compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, dental, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered
