Jr. Energy Modeler

Summary

The Jr. Energy Modeler (Trainee) at ICAST is a remote position focused on learning building energy modeling for energy efficient retrofit projects at existing multifamily buildings. The ideal candidate has 1+ years’ experience in energy modeling or a relevant technical degree, and preferred qualifications include understanding of building science, energy conservation measures, weatherization, utility energy efficiency incentive programs, communication skills, proficiency with M365 Suit of Products (special focus on MS Excel), and ability to excel in a fast-paced environment. The position offers a compensation of $50K/yr., health, dental, and life insurance at no cost for the employee, 403b Retirement Savings Plan available on day 1, unlimited PTO plan, and ICAST is a qualifying employer for Federal public student loan forgiveness.

Requirements

1+ years’ experience in energy modeling or possess a relevant technical degree

Responsibilities

• Learn to develop energy models using available data
• Utilize various modeling software to complete building energy models under the guidance of an ICAST Energy Modeler
• Learn the application submissions process required to attain incentives from various state/utility energy efficiency and weatherization programs

Preferred Qualifications

• Possess an understanding of building science and energy conservation measures
• Possess an understanding of weatherization and of utility energy efficiency incentive programs
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with team members who do not possess a technical background
• Proficiency with M365 Suit of Products (special focus on MS Excel)
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
