Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in a similar support role
  • Good knowledge of operating systems, including z/OS, Linux, and Windows
  • Understanding of IT platforms and data center operations
  • Willingness to work in a 24/7 rotating shift schedule (day shifts and night shifts)
  • Reliable, committed, and team-oriented with adaptability to changing environments
  • Business fluency in German (C1) and good English skills (B2)

Responsibilities

  • Optimize System Control: Ensure the smooth operation of central systems (z/OS) and subsystems, as well as the server infrastructure (Linux, Unix, Windows), monitoring and controlling them in a 24/7 shift environment to ensure high availability
  • Enhance Application Monitoring: Oversee and optimize the control of distributed applications using system management tools, ensuring that they run efficiently and without interruptions across various platforms
  • Streamline Event Management: Independently manage event processing in alignment with support processes, making sure that all incidents are tracked and resolved in an organized manner to minimize downtime
  • Resolve Complex Issues: Handle escalated fault reports from 1st level support, working to quickly restore the defined operating status and minimize downtime
  • Strengthen Incident Recovery: Lead support for incident management, ensuring quick service recovery, thorough documentation, and timely tracking to keep operations on track
  • Implement Process Improvements: Implement and document standardized changes and emergency drills, ensuring consistency and compliance in all procedures for system updates and disaster recovery
