Junior Backend Engineer

Summary

Join Leap, a tech company combating climate change by enabling a reliable electric grid powered by clean energy, as a Junior Engineer focused on backend development with frontend capabilities. You will contribute to building and scaling our platform, working on internal energy trading markets, connecting to external markets, API exposure, and potentially dashboard development. The role requires strong technical skills, experience with APIs, and a willingness to learn and innovate. Must be able to commute to the Utrecht office 1-2 times per week. Requirements

• Be flexible and act quickly on new insights
• Enjoy and have experience building and connecting to APIs
• Possess strong technical skills and appreciate open discussion, but also be capable of working independently
• Enjoy working collaboratively in a team
• Have a willingness to learn and innovate
• Have an interest in frontend and not be afraid to touch frontend code (no experience required)
• Be able to commute to our Utrecht office 1-2 times per week
• Ability to communicate with clarity in English, verbally and in writing

Responsibilities

• Work on our internal market for energy trading (DEX)
• Connect DEX to external energy markets (e.g., CAISO in California, ERCOT in Texas)
• Expose DEX through an API
• Build an amazing dashboard for our customers to interact with (if you enjoy frontend work)
• Set up required servers and infrastructure
