Junior Coastal Engineer, Greece

Summary

The job is for a Junior Coastal /Harbor Engineer at Rogan Associates, a leading consulting engineering firm in Port & Waterfront Development. The role involves learning from senior team members and eventually supporting the execution of various port and waterfront projects. The candidate should have a BEng degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in coastal or hydraulic works and 0 to 1 year of relevant experience.

Requirements

• BEng Degree in Civil Engineering from a relevant University with a specialization in coastal or hydraulic works
• 0 to 1 year of relevant working experience in the design of Ports, Harbours or Coastal Engineering. Specifically any working experience in the analysis and design of a number of coastal and/or geotechnical solutions including deep foundations, slope stability remedial works, ground improvement and retaining walls
• A good level of expertise in the use of software for the design of harbour and coastal protection works. A good level of AUTOCAD use is a good start but also familiarization with MIKE or related software will be appreciated
• English to Proficiency Level both written and oral
• Available for frequent trips both in Greece and abroad with availability to stay for about a week per year

Responsibilities

• Work in supporting the colleagues to complete various projects on time. Such projects may be in port planning, geotechnical engineering, bathymetrical surveys, civil and structural design, and environmental studies
• Learn to work with relevant planning codes and regulations (EN, BS, PIANC, ROM, EAU)
• Attend site or field visits to cover various demands, including but not limited to ground investigation, construction monitoring, site or asset inspections and site validation or more

Preferred Qualifications

• Postgraduate studies in Coastal /Harbor Engineering
• PMO or Price2 qualifications
• Working knowledge of French
