Junior Fashion Designer

Summary

The job is for a Designer at Love, Bonito, a digital-first womenswear brand with a mission to empower Asian women. The role involves managing the creation of collections and contributing to the growth of the Design Department. The candidate should have strong problem-solving skills, technical knowledge, creativity, communication skills, and leadership abilities.

Requirements

• A knack for problem solving with an ability to think ‘out of the box’; highly adaptable and flexible and ability to adjust and refine when the need arises
• A genuine curiosity to know how things work and how to make them better
• Solid technical know-how
• A thoughtful and creative designer
• Solid design knowledge, sensibilities and ability to translate concept into execution
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to lead direction of a project across cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

• Designing user-centric, thoughtful products that fulfill Love, Bonito's brand mission
• Understanding the market, targeted customer personas, and good design principles through research, store visits, and customer studies
• Creating products that are modern, relatable, of good quality & value
• Having a good eye for fashion, upcoming trends and spotting what resonates with consumers
• Producing technical drawings and creating detailed tech packs with accurate measurements
• Partnering with other designers in creating seasonal color stories, initial fabric and trims selections
• Actively participating in fit sessions, working with live models and giving comments to suggest fit changes
• Planning project timelines according to production and development days
• Tracking and monitoring relevant product development calendars
• Maintaining an organized archive of all tech packs and fit samples
