Summary
Join Newton, a Canadian cryptocurrency trading platform, as a Junior FinOps Associate and contribute to the smooth execution of cryptocurrency operations. Work closely with the Senior Associate to ensure efficient deposit, withdrawal, and settlement processes. Your responsibilities include preparing reports on cryptocurrency inventory and trades, reviewing audit logs, and collaborating with various teams to optimize user transactions. You will need proficiency in Excel, a general understanding of cryptocurrencies, and the ability to manage multiple requests effectively. Bonus points for experience with cryptocurrency trading platforms and data analysis tools like Python or SQL.
Requirements
- Available to work on-call evenings and weekends as needed
- Possess a general understanding of cryptocurrencies and blockchain transactions
- Proficient in Excel, with intermediate to advanced skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, PivotTables)
- Comfortable working with database structures and capable of extracting insights from both structured and unstructured data
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple requests, with clear communication around timelines and deliverables
- Willingness and initiative to learn
Responsibilities
- Assisting with the preparation of reports on cryptocurrency inventory, trades, deposits, and withdrawals and supporting the execution of related workflows based on report insights
- Reviewing automated audit logs generated by the system and recommending actions when necessary
- Reviewing Newton’s position with counterparties and assisting with the asset settlement process
- Working with the financial accounting team to ensure that cryptocurrency transactions are recorded accurately and on a timely basis
- Preparing ad-hoc reports as requested by management team
- Collaborating with the customer success, product, and development team to enable accurate and timely processing of user cryptocurrency deposits and withdrawals
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using cryptocurrency trading platforms and transacting on multiple blockchain networks
- Experience in querying, manipulating, and reporting on large sets of data (Python, SQL, PowerBI/Power Query, etc.)
- Foundational skills in general accounting and bookkeeping, including familiarity with day-to-day financial operations
