Summary

Sword is hiring a Junior Geoscience Data Manager to join their team in Aberdeen. The role involves working as part of a project team and contributing to Sword's growing SDO service line. The successful candidate will receive training and learning & development opportunities.

Requirements

• University Degree, preferably in Geology/Petroleum Geology/Earth Sciences with a sound knowledge of Information Technology
• An awareness of subsurface (Geoscience & Engineering) data types and the complex nature of how the data is obtained, stored, integrated, applied, and managed across multiple business functions

Responsibilities

• Work alongside the current team providing a key service to energy supermajor clients
• Contribute to Sword’s growing SDO service line

Preferred Qualifications

• A knowledge of wireline and MWD/LWD logging tools and their applications
• Cross-discipline knowledge within the subsurface domain (Geology, Petrophysics, Geophysics, Reservoir Engineering, Wells etc.)
• The ability to prioritise workloads, work to strict deadlines and follow workflows
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally (in English)
• A detail-orientated self-starter with the ability to solve technical problems
• Knowledge of data management, data clean-up, quality control and data loading
• Any experience working with commonly used software in the subsurface industry such as Petrel, Techlog, Geolog and Interactive Petrophysics, or relational databases
