Junior SOC Analyst

Summary

Join Encora as a Junior SOC Analyst and contribute to designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable applications. Lead technical projects, mentor junior engineers, and improve software development practices. Conduct tier 1 analysis of security alerts and suspicious indicators, analyze logs from various sources, and monitor incoming messages to the Security Operations Team. Contribute to the Security Operations Run book. This remote position is based in Peru, Colombia, Costa Rica, or Bolivia.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
• Extensive experience in software development with a focus on designing and building scalable applications
• Professional/ Advanced English skills
• 0 - 2 years of experience in an information technology role
• Understanding of the threat landscape, including malware and vulnerabilities
• Knowledge of TCP/IP and the OSI model
• Knowledge of firewalls, SIEM, Active Directory, Windows, mail gateway, sandboxes, and IPS/IDS
• Willingness to continuously learn on the job
• Strong communication skills

Responsibilities

• Conduct tier 1 analysis of security alerts and other suspicious indicators
• Conduct SIEM searches for indicators of compromise
• Analyze PCAPs, IDS, Windows/AD/Security, web server, web proxy and AV logs
• Monitor incoming messages to the Security Operations Team
• Contribute to the Security Operations Run book
