Junior Software Developer

Summary

Join our Analytics team as a Software Developer and work with talented developers to design, build, and ship high-quality products. You'll be responsible for writing, testing, and deploying scalable code, maintaining standards of security, reliability, performance, and quality, and working with various technologies.

Requirements

• A degree in Computer Science or similar engineering, and at least 1 year of experience in designing, developing and maintaining software or an equivalent level of work experience, and a track record of substantial contributions to software projects with high business impact
• Experience writing clean code that performs well at scale; ideally, you have experience with Go or Python, and have a desire to learn other languages
• An understanding of SaaS software development practice, previous experience working on a SaaS product will be viewed favorably
• Collaboration and Teamwork: works with others to deliver results, meaningfully contributing to the team and prioritizing group needs over individual needs
• Creativity and Innovation: seeks new and better ways of doing things, generating original and imaginative ideas, products, and/or solutions
• Problem Solving: uses an organized and logical approach to find solutions to complex problems and looks beyond the obvious to understand the root cause of problems and proposes several possible solutions
• Good practice of ensuring code quality through tests

Responsibilities

• Work within a cross-functional team (including designers, product managers, architects and other developers), learning best practices and delivering compelling products and services to our customers
• Write, test, and deploy high quality scalable code
• Assist with the implementation of our technical roadmap as we scale our services and build new products
• Maintain standards of security, reliability, performance, and quality
• Learn from the expertise of your peers and work-out-loud to share your experiences internally and within our community
• Participate in code reviews, and apply software development best practices
• Work with the following technologies: MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, GRPC
