Junior Software Engineer

Summary

Join GoFasti, a Talent-as-a-Service company, as a Junior Software Engineer and work remotely from Latin America. You will support the enhancement and stabilization of a legacy PHP-based SaaS platform, assist in building new platform features using modern technologies, and collaborate with senior team members. The ideal candidate possesses 1–2 years of software development experience, extensive front-end development experience with TypeScript, and familiarity with PHP, JavaScript, and relational databases. Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in software development (internships, bootcamps, or junior roles)
• Extensive experience in front-end development with TypeScript
• Familiarity with PHP, JavaScript, and relational databases (MySQL or PostgreSQL)
• Experience with Legacy: PHP 7, MySQL 5.7, LAMP stack, Vue or basic React
• Experience with Modern: NestJS (Node.js backend), NextJS (React frontend) or PostgreSQL
• Experience with Infrastructure: AWS (SQS/SNS, ECS, Fargate) or cloud-native development patterns
• Eagerness to work across legacy and modern systems
• Comfortable working in a distributed, remote-first environment
• Strong communication skills and an openness to feedback and mentorship

Responsibilities

• Support the enhancement and stabilization of a legacy PHP-based SaaS platform
• Assist in building new platform features using modern technologies (NestJS, NextJS)
• Collaborate with senior team members to debug issues and refactor code
• Document changes and contribute to improving code quality and maintainability

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to AWS services and/or Infrastructure as Code
• Familiarity with service-oriented or event-driven architectures
• Passion for building tools that drive positive social outcomes

Benefits

• The Salary range offered for this position varies from (USD) $1,000 - $1,500 per month, depending on seniority and skillset
• This position is for an independent contractor, through a payroll platform
