Kubernetes Operator Engineer, Data Plane Ops

Summary

Join ClickHouse as a Kubernetes Operator Engineer and play a key role in evolving the company's critical Kubernetes operator, which manages thousands of databases across multiple clouds and regions. You will design and implement new features to support the growing complexity and scale of the ClickHouse Cloud platform, ensuring the operator remains robust, testable, and easy to maintain. Collaborate closely with the autoscaling and core teams to seamlessly integrate new features, educate other teams on contributing to the operator codebase, and participate in on-call rotations to investigate production issues. This position requires 5+ years of relevant software development experience, expertise in Go and Kubernetes operators, and experience with cloud technologies. Requirements

• You have 5+ years of relevant software development industry experience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems
• Software development experience in Go
• Experience developing kubernetes operators
• Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience leading and shipping large scope technical projects in collaboration with multiple experienced engineers
• You have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team and across engineering teams
• You are a strong problem solver and have solid production debugging skills
• You thrive in a fast paced environment, and see yourself as a partner with the business with the shared goal of moving the business forward
• You have a high level of responsibility, ownership, and accountability

Responsibilities

• Work deep inside Kubernetes to design and develop new features and improvements for the clickhouse-operator
• Work closely with the autoscaling team and the core team to make sure new features are integrated seamlessly into the operator
• Educate and support other teams so that they can contribute to the operator codebase
• Be part of the on-call rotation and investigate issues in our ClickHouse Cloud production environment
