Latvian Language Instructor

Summary

The job is for a Latvian language and cultural instructor to design and deliver an essential level course for the Defense Security Cooperation University’s, Defense Advisors Program at the U.S. Department of Defense from 19 August to 6 September 2024. The course will be delivered virtually via Blackboard.

Requirements

• Native speaker of, or near native fluency in Latvian language
• Bachelor’s degree or a certification recognized by the Department of Defense (DoD)
• At least one year of experience as a language instructor
• Being a U.S. citizen

Responsibilities

• Design, manage, organize, and conduct essential language instructions
• Develop a syllabus, lesson plan, and workbook
• Develop, administer and score an oral exam
• Ensure course design and delivery adheres to DSCU instructional design and delivery pillars
• Host virtual, live language training sessions with students
• Communicate regularly with the Course Manager
