Summary

Join DoseSpot, a PE-backed start-up and leader in electronic prescribing software, as their Lead Data Engineer. You will design, implement, and manage the organization’s data architecture, working with cross-functional teams to ensure scalable, secure, and strategically aligned data systems. This hands-on role requires technical leadership and collaboration with global teams, including offshore engineering resources. You will oversee data warehouses, data lakes, and ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure technologies. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in data modeling, database design, cloud data platforms, and data governance. Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, including 3+ years in a technical leadership or architecture role
  • Proven expertise in Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, and Microsoft Fabric
  • Strong background in data warehouse architecture, data modeling, and performance tuning
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and/or Spark for data transformation and orchestration
  • Experience with cloud-native architecture, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines in Azure
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence technical direction and strategy

Responsibilities

  • Design and lead the development of scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions within the Azure ecosystem
  • Define and enforce data engineering standards, best practices, and architectural patterns
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to enhance the data platform’s capabilities
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of data engineers
  • Act as a subject matter expert for internal stakeholders and clients, addressing technical inquiries and providing strategic guidance
  • Collaborate with data science, analytics, and business teams to align data architecture with business objectives
  • Oversee the design, development, and optimization of data warehouses, data lakes, and ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Synapse, Data Factory, and Microsoft Fabric
  • Select and implement appropriate data storage solutions (SQL, NoSQL, data lakes, cloud warehouses)
  • Manage the development and maintenance of data models and schema designs to support efficient data storage and retrieval
  • Optimize data processing workflows for performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Implement and maintain robust data governance, security, and compliance frameworks
  • Ensure data quality and integrity through effective validation, cleansing, and monitoring techniques
