Lead Data Scientist

You can work 100% remotely if located in LATAM or join the Montevideo, Uruguay office. The position requires strong Azure cloud services expertise and experience with Generative AI models. Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in data science or machine learning roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership or team-building capacity
• Proven experience with Generative AI models (e.g., LLMs, diffusion models, transformers)
• Strong background in deploying machine learning solutions on Azure (e.g., Azure ML, Data Factory, Synapse)
• Proficient in Python and common machine learning libraries
• Deep understanding of MLOps, model lifecycle management, and cloud-native architectures
• Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and mentoring junior talent
• Passion for building from the ground up in a fast-paced, innovative environment
• Excellent written and verbal English for clear and effective communication with the team

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of Generative AI solutions, from prototypes to scalable production systems
• Build and mentor a high-performing data science team, fostering a culture of experimentation, excellence, and continuous learning
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to translate strategic goals into AI-powered solutions
• Architect and implement end-to-end pipelines leveraging Azure cloud tools for model training, deployment, and monitoring
• Stay up-to-date with the latest Gen AI advancements and integrate emerging techniques and models into our ecosystem
• Define best practices for model development, evaluation, and responsible AI
• Drive innovation through research, experimentation, and hands-on development
