Summary

Join Extend's Finance Analytics team as a Data Scientist and take ownership of revenue forecasting, developing forecasting models, and monitoring revenue performance. Collaborate with the CFO and cross-functional teams to identify revenue opportunities and improve financial planning. Build and maintain the financial data architecture, ensuring data integrity. This role requires a curious and entrepreneurial mindset with strong analytical skills and experience in forecasting models (like ARIMA). Requirements

  • A curious, entrepreneurial data scientist with plenty of grit, analytical prowess, creative thinking, and initiative
  • Hands-on experience with forecasting models (time series models such as ARIMA) is a must
  • Bachelor's degree from a relevant major
  • 5+ years of work experience as a data scientist, 2+ years of experience with financial modeling
  • Ability to communicate/present across the organization, especially to teams with less data & analytics experience
  • Expertise with SQL and Python
  • Empathy and humility

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of revenue forecasting through development of forecasting models and revenue performance monitoring / reporting
  • Work closely with CFO and other company leaders to identify revenue opportunities and improve financial planning process
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to understand different areas that impact revenue / financials of the organization and help with better forecasting / monitoring
  • Build and maintain data architecture for financial and accounting input. Work closely with Data Engineering to make optimal use of available tools (DBT, Snowflake, JIRA, Github, etc)
  • Lead efforts around financial data integrity through appropriate tools and governance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree is a plus
  • Insurance/financial experience is a plus
