Summary
Join CD PROJEKT RED as a Lead Engine Programmer to work on Cyberpunk 2, a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. As a Lead and Programmer, you will lead and maintain teams, provide feedback, and mentor team members. You will leverage your Unreal Engine expertise to design, implement, and expand features. You will also be responsible for proposing and implementing solutions to performance and scale challenges in a large open-world game. This hybrid/in-office or fully remote position offers flexible working hours and is based in Boston or anywhere in the USA or Canada.
Requirements
- 7 years experience as a programmer within the games industry and with at least 1 year of experience as a lead
- Deep proficiency in C++ coding, evidenced by a track record in commercial, open-source, or private projects
- Thorough understanding of Unreal Engine
- Extensive knowledge and experience in one or more engine related focus areas, including but not limited to: rendering, tools, physics, etc
- Experience in working on various platforms
- System architecture skills
- Ability to debug and optimize code
- Experience with multithreaded programming
- Can think and work creatively while taking the initiative to solve problems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated, strong work ethic, and able to work independently
- Drive towards professional growth
Responsibilities
- Develop architectural proposals and guide the vision for diverse engine systems, ensuring they meet desired functionality and performance standards
- Proposing tools or technologies that could enhance the ability to deliver great engine systems support
- Owning and driving engine topics and subsequent decision-making
- Proposing and implementing solutions to the challenges of performance and scale of a large open-world game
- Mentoring team members on how to get the most out of Unreal Technology
- Motivating and energizing the team members
- Cultivating the team culture in line with the company’s values and goals
- Cascading and escalating information
- Interviewing and hiring members of your team
- Creating a game that delivers memorable experiences to players
- Working across all disciplines to ensure that the engine technologies are meeting the needs of all stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with RPG and/or open world games will be very welcome
- Passion for games
