Join Caraway, a fast-growing, fully remote home goods brand, as their Lead Full Stack Engineer! Lead the Core Site Experience Team, reporting to the Director of Engineering. You will be a technical resource and team leader, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver a best-in-class e-commerce experience. Responsibilities include leading a team of developers, managing engineering resources, building high-traffic web platforms, and performing QA testing. This role requires 6+ years of full-stack development experience, 2+ years in e-commerce, and 3+ years of people management. Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in full stack development
- 2+ years of experience working in e-commerce, direct to consumer is preferred
- 3+ years of people management experience
- Expertise in developing, maintaining, and reviewing frontend and backend code; utilizing modern HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and web APIs
- Proven ability to unblock team members, troubleshoot technical challenges, and drive solutions forward
- Experience with e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, Magento, or BigCommerce required
- Experience with a use of a react framework such as Gatsby or Next in a production environment
- Self-starter with a passion for learning and continuous improvement
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable leading both technical discussions and people-management initiatives
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define scope, develop and implement robust, scalable solutions across our customer facing web experience
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of developers, holding regular 1:1s, conducting annual reviews, and supporting team membersβ professional development
- Efficiently manage engineering resources through effective sprint planning, prioritizing tasks based on team skills, while addressing roadblocks to ensure timely delivery of project goals
- Design, build, and scale high-traffic web platforms, focusing on achieving an optimal balance between scalability, performance, and timely delivery of projects
- Perform thorough QA testing including cross-browser/platform compatibility in partnership with our digital product team to identify bottlenecks, improve efficiency, and troubleshoot bugs
- Contribute to the maintenance of comprehensive technical documentation and write technical documentation as needed
- Implement third-party pixels and work with analytic tools to support data-driven decision making
- Foster team collaboration and alignment by ensuring clear priorities and direct communication between cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of experience working in e-commerce, direct to consumer is preferred
