Summary

Join CD PROJEKT RED in Boston as a Lead PCG/Tools Engineer to work on Cyberpunk 2! Lead the Orion Team, developing procedural tools for city, environment, and character generation. Manage your team, collaborate with designers and artists, and ensure efficient tooling. You will need 7+ years of programming experience in the games industry, strong C++ and Unreal Engine proficiency, and excellent communication skills. Requirements

  • At least 7 years of professional experience as a programmer within the games industry
  • Strong proficiency in C++ programming and knowledge of Unreal Engine
  • Experience with current-gen console hardware
  • A good understanding of geometric algorithms and data structures
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically to overcome technical challenges and drive innovation in technology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Management experience
  • Tool Development experience
  • Unreal experience with PCG experience or equivalent
  • A good understanding of geometric algorithms and data structures

Responsibilities

  • Manage your direct reports and help them grow in their role and ambitions, including setting up 1:1s, performance management, hiring and promotions
  • Work closely with designers, artists and other developers to understand their needs and ensure that your team is aligned with everyone to deliver on the expectations
  • Guiding your team to build and enhance PCG tools, focusing on scalability, efficiency and ease of use within Unreal Engine
  • Ensure the tooling pipeline is running efficiently across the board
  • Research emerging trends in PCG, tools development and Unreal Engine
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration to ensure the tools contribute effectively to all game systems and components
  • Write high-quality code that is optimised, bug-free, and aligned with project goals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional experience with Houdini
  • Experience in performance/memory optimization
  • Experience developing with XBox and PlayStation
