Summary

Join Supermetrics’ Design System Team as a founding Product Designer based in Finland, UK, or Ireland. Collaborate closely with a Design System Developer to build and evolve the company's design system, Metri, from the ground up. You will craft comprehensive UX, visual, and interaction guidelines, ensuring accessibility, usability, and brand consistency. Responsibilities include documenting best practices, ensuring effective adoption of Metri, collaborating on technical challenges, and integrating industry best practices. This role requires extensive experience in designing, scaling, and operationalizing design systems, effective communication and collaboration skills, a standout portfolio showcasing design system work, and a solid understanding of front-end development. You will work with engineering teams to ensure Metri's components are implemented correctly and consistently. Requirements

  • Extensive experience in designing, scaling, and operationalizing design systems – You’ve established and preserved design systems that enforce consistency and efficiency across teams
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills – You know how to inspire, advocate, and align teams around a shared vision, effectively bringing designers, developers, and stakeholders on board
  • Your adeptness in visual design and thorough attention to detail consistently uplift the quality of every project
  • A standout portfolio – Showcasing design system work (a must!) alongside broader product design contributions, demonstrating your impact and approach
  • A solid understanding of front-end development – While you don’t need to code, you grasp the fundamentals of HTML, CSS, and component-based frameworks to collaborate effectively with engineers
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma - Skilled use of Figma, particularly in leveraging its design system functionalities, to streamline design workflows and collaboration

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a high-quality, robust design system – Craft comprehensive UX, visual, and interaction guidelines, ensuring accessibility, usability, and brand consistency at every touchpoint
  • Work in close collaboration with a dedicated Design System Developer. You will jointly own the creation and evolution of the design system
  • Create frameworks and governance models that enable designers and developers to collaborate seamlessly and work efficiently with Metri
  • Advocate for adoption and best practices – Establish training, documentation, and onboarding processes to ensure widespread and effective use of the design system across the company
  • Ensure high-quality implementation – Work with engineering teams to bridge the gap between design and code, ensuring that Metri’s components and patterns are implemented correctly and consistently
  • Documenting best practices, design standards, and usage guidelines
  • Ensuring effective adoption and implementation of Metri across teams
  • Collaborating with the qualified Design System Developer to address technical challenges and ensure smooth integration
  • Ensuring Metri stays relevant by integrating industry best practices and continuous improvements
