Summary

Join iDesign as a Project Manager/Scrum Master and lead Agile project management efforts for an innovative SaaS product. You will work remotely on a contract basis, facilitating Agile ceremonies, managing product documentation, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This part-time, hourly, 1099 contract position requires strong Agile knowledge, experience with project management software, and a background in SaaS environments. You will work closely with the Product Owner, developers, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Requirements

  • PMP certification
  • Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
  • Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and coaching Agile teams
  • Minimum of 3–4 years of experience using project management software (Asana, Jira, Azure DevOps, etc.), demonstrating expert-level proficiency
  • Background in SaaS environments
  • Knowledge of Figma and Kollabe or similar collaboration tools
  • A proven track record of building collaborative relationships while meeting project deadlines and objectives
  • Experience working with teams on online course development, preferably in higher education
  • Strong organizational skills, excellent follow-through, and exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead facilitator for Agile ceremonies, including stand-ups, sprint refinement, planning, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Coach the team on Agile principles and Scrum best practices to foster a culture of continuous improvement
  • Track sprint progress, identify blockers, and coordinate resolution with appropriate stakeholders
  • Support Agile practices with flexibility, adapting to project needs while promoting Agile maturity
  • Coordinate release readiness, including timeline planning, QA alignment, and deployment logistics
  • Recommend Go/No-Go decisions based on scope, risk, and stakeholder input
  • Review and prioritize the backlog, refine user stories, and define sprint goals
  • Ensure the backlog remains actionable and aligned with high-priority deliverables
  • Create and implement standardized templates for product features and processes
  • Establish and maintain a centralized repository of SaaS documentation
  • Capture institutional knowledge to support long-term sustainability
  • Ensure documentation remains current as work progresses
  • Own release documentation and communications, including release notes, risk logs, and stakeholder updates
  • Maintain the release calendar and coordinate cross-functional readiness for upcoming deployments
  • Monitor team productivity through Agile metrics such as velocity, burndown rates, and throughput
  • Identify and implement workflow improvements to optimize team performance and delivery flow
  • Foster a positive, collaborative team environment
  • Promote a sustainable development pace and support team well-being
  • Act as a leader who advocates for the team's needs and growth
  • Facilitate communication across teams
  • Ensure alignment between development, product, and stakeholder expectations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Scrum Master Certification (CSM, PSM I)
  • Experience in start-up or high-growth environments, with a track record of building and scaling processes
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in software development
  • Background in technical documentation or knowledge management
  • Experience with performance tracking and metrics analysis
  • Advanced degree in Education, Instructional Technology, Business, or a related field
  • Expert in online learning, instructional design and technology, adult learning theory, and andragogy/pedagogy to support course development
  • Background in Learner Experience Design
  • Expertise in competency-based learning
  • Superior knowledge of available open educational resources (OERs)
  • Quality assurance training and certification (QM, OSCQR, other)
  • Post-secondary teaching and learning experience
