Requirements

  • Background as a QA Automation Engineer or SDET, including experience in automated testing of desktop applications for Windows
  • Track record of designing and implementing tests for various use cases, with a deep understanding of what and why to automate specific tests
  • Strong core programming skills with proficiency in the Microsoft .NET stack and familiarity with the WinAppDriver (WAP) / FlaUI / UIAutomation (UIA) library
  • Commitment to upholding high engineering standards, prioritizing code quality, testability, maintainability and reliability
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Drive to continually develop your skills, improve team processes and elevate product quality
  • Fluency in English, with effective communication skills – articulating complex technical ideas and trade-offs clearly

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end QA process for the Mimica Recorder (their recording agent)
  • Add tests, modify app code as needed, expand automated test cases and continuously refine their automated testing frameworks
  • Enhance their existing automation framework to scale testing as they add new features
  • Define the test strategy, create plans, author new test cases and run tests to support ongoing releases and provide full test coverage
  • Design, develop and execute automated scripts to streamline the testing process
  • Gather diagnostics for defect reporting and triaging issues
  • Collaborate across teams to establish and document quality standards, including acceptance criteria
  • Partner with product management to understand user requirements and translate them into comprehensive test cases
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in QA automation and proactively implement improvements
  • Mentor and guide other engineers on automation best practices, coding standards and test methodologies to foster a culture of quality

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Appium or other tools utilizing UIA β€” Microsoft’s Accessibility framework for Windows
  • Familiarity with enterprise environments and applications like SAP and Oracle
  • Proficiency in creating and/or automating a Continuous Testing pipeline as part of CI/CD
  • Experience working within a high-impact, high-ambiguity startup environment – delivering value quickly and iteratively
