Remote Lead/Staff Bioinformatics Scientist

Summary

Join Natera's Bioinformatics Research Team as a Lead/Staff Bioinformatics Scientist to contribute to algorithm and machine learning model development projects, working closely with molecular biologists and clinical scientists. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in algorithm development, genomics, sequencing data processing, and/or applied machine learning.

Requirements

• PhD in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field with a strong focus on cancer epi/genomics
• Minimum of 6-10 years of experience working in the bioinformatics field, including algorithm development, data analysis, and machine learning
• Deep understanding of sequencing data
• Familiar with public databases such as TCGA, COSMIC, or OncoKB
• Experience in Python
• Experience using Linux command-line tools and writing shell scripts

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and validate innovative algorithms and statistical methods to analyze large-scale data sets related to cancer detection
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and scientific excellence
• Work closely with molecular biologists and clinical scientists to solve challenging problems
• Contribute to experimental design and ensure data integrity and quality control
• Act as technical lead during various phases of research and product development
• Mentor and train other bioinformatics scientists
