Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselor (LADC)

Summary

The job is for a Licensed Assessor (LADC) at Kyros, a Minneapolis-based start-up that has built a recovery management platform for substance use disorder. The role involves ensuring and delivering treatment services, staying current with professional research, completing continuing education courses, and other duties assigned by the supervisor. The candidate must be free of chemical use problems for at least two years immediately preceding hire, licensed or exempt under Minnesota Statutes 245G, and document competence in screening for and working with clients with mental health problems.

Requirements

• Must be free of chemical use problems for at least the two years immediately preceding hire
• Must have or obtain 12 hours of training in co-occurring mental health problems training within six months of hire
• Ability to work within the Kyros Recovery Mission: To assist adults in gaining freedom from chemical addiction by establishing a chemical-free lifestyle, enhancing social skills, improving work habits, and building supportive relationships
• Must be licensed or exempt from licensure under Minnesota Statutes 245G
• Must document competence in screening for and working with clients with mental health problems, through education, training, and experience
• Knowledge and understanding of the implication of this chapter, sections 626.557, and 626.5572, and chapters 254A and 260E
• Ability to successfully complete MN Dept of Human Services background study

Responsibilities

• Ensure and/or deliver treatment services including the Initial Service Plan, Comprehensive Assessment, in accordance with Minnesota Statute 245G and Kyros Recovery policy
• Complete a comprehensive assessment and an assessment summary of the client's chemical use problems within three calendar days after service initiation. The assessment summary must be formatted utilizing the ASAM criteria
• Ensure the content and format of client records be uniform and entries in each case are signed and dated
• Initiate communication with client referral, probation, social service agencies, etc
• Stay current regarding professional research, techniques, etc
• Complete continuing education courses in current treatment concepts and methods as required by the State of Minnesota to maintain Alcohol and Drug Counselor license
