Summary

Requirements

• Experience working with 3D packages and in-game FX systems to create a wide range of VFX
• Mid to senior level of professional VFX experience in the AAA game industry
• Experience providing VFX with a minimum of two shipped AAA 3D game titles
• Proficient in creating high-quality VFX using Maya, Houdini, or other equivalent tools
• Experience with Unreal Engine
• Able to balance quality vs technical constraints for efficient development of high-quality product
• Understanding of weight, timing, and animation
• Strong Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Responsibilities

• Design and implement high-quality Visual Effects in response to story, art direction, and gameplay directives
• Translate reference, concept art, storyboards, written game design briefs, and verbal directions into prototypes and implement real-time 3D VFX in-game
• Create and optimize VFX to run within performance limitations
• Collaborate with Production to prioritize and coordinate the teams tasks to ensure that deliverables are completed on time
• Work with Art Direction to define VFX priority lists and strategy - communicating these plans as required
• Work with Art and Programming teams to anticipate and solve technical challenges within given constraints and visual requirements
• Research and develop new industry technology and trends to improve the project's visual quality and efficiency
