Linguist Analyst

The job is for a Linguist Analyst at Alexa Translations, a remote temporary position (one-year contract) that requires the candidate to analyze translation data, manage client feedback, collaborate with technology teams, and ensure quality in translated content. The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, strong analytical skills, understanding of A.I. and neural networks, proficiency in project management tools, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as linguistics, translation or a related discipline
• Excellent academic credentials in semantics
• Proven experience in translation, particularly English to Modern Standard Arabic, with a keen eye for detail
• Profound familiarity with Modern Standard Arabic typographical rules and standards
• Understanding of the legal, financial and government industries
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to perform contrastive analyses of translated material
• Understanding of the mechanisms underpinning A.I. and neural networks, with the ability to collaborate effectively with Technology teams
• Proficiency in project management tools such as Jira
• Excellent understanding of translation memories and term bases

Responsibilities

• Provide timely translation services to the Technology team
• Interface between our Linguistic Operations team and Technology team, facilitating effective collaboration
• Process client feedback regarding our A.I. translation tool, ensuring timely responses and resolution of issues
• Manage and prioritize tasks using project management tools such as Jira, ensuring efficient handling of tickets and tasks
• Conduct in-depth translation analyses, focusing on linguistic nuances
• Provide insights and recommendations based on linguistic analysis to enhance translation quality and accuracy
• Collaborate with the Technology team to implement improvements and updates to the A.I. translation engine

Preferred Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex linguistic concepts clearly
• Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment
