Requirements
- At least five years of legal docketing or calendar management experience
- Advanced proficiency with Compulaw docketing software
- Thorough understanding of litigation workflows and court procedures across state, federal, and appellate levels
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time under tight deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication, and ability to collaborate effectively
- Capability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update all litigation deadlines and court appearances using Compulaw
- Review legal filings and correspondence to extract critical dates and enter them accurately
- Monitor court rule changes and ensure compliance across California courts
- Generate timely reminders, status reports, and matter updates as needed
- Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to maintain consistent, error-free calendaring
- Identify and rectify discrepancies in docket entries
- Stay informed on Compulaw updates and implement best practices for docket management
- Safeguard sensitive case information with strict confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with legal case management platforms like iManage
- Prior experience supporting litigation teams in public agency or education law environments
- Familiarity with additional docketing or case management systems
- Process improvement orientation or experience leading calendar optimization efforts
- Training or mentorship experience with junior support staff
