LLM Engineer

Summary

The job is for a role in Qarik, an IT Solutions company focusing on Google Cloud Platform, where the employee will develop Generative AI applications. The ideal candidate should have experience in Python programming, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), Vector databases, and preferably in LLM model fine-tuning, embedding model fine tuning, Shell scripting, Google Cloud Vertex AI, Classic Machine Learning, MLOps, Data Engineering, and have strong ethics, technical aptitude, engineering mindset/developer background, a strong sense of ownership and teamwork, curiosity, excellent communication skills, enjoys working with clients, and is open to any location as long as they can overlap US East Coast morning hours.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with design and implementation of applications using Large Language Models (LLM)
• Experience with Python programming
• Experience with Google PaLM, OpenAI GPT, LLaMA, or similar models
• Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar frameworks
• Advanced prompt engineering experience
• Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) experience
• Vector databases (GCP Vector Search, ChromaDB, Pinecone, pgvector, or similar) experience

Responsibilities

• Develop applications on Google Cloud
• Work with customers to understand their requirements
• Suggest new ideas and features to the team to further improve the product
• Implement the new functionalities with a passion for quality

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in LLM model fine-tuning
• Experience in embedding model fine tuning
• Shell scripting experience
• Google Cloud Vertex AI (AutoML, AI APIs, etc.) experience
• Classic Machine Learning (ML frameworks, neural net models development, training, tuning, serving) experience
• MLOps (ideally on GCP) experience
• Data Engineering (including SQL) experience
